AI Impact Summit in Delhi Hit by Disarray Despite Grand Global Ambitions
The first day of the major AI Impact Summit in Delhi, India, was marked by extreme logistical failures. While Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the event to demonstrate India’s tech capabilities to 100 countries, the delegates were left struggling with extreme overcrowding, queues, and a lack of basic infrastructure such as digital payment systems for food. Some startup founders even complained of being locked out of their own stalls due to security sweeps, while others claimed that their products were stolen from the high-security areas. In light of the severe criticism on social media platforms, IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw apologized for the situation and established a "war room" to address the issues, admitting that the organizing team had been too slow to cope with the 70,000 delegates.
